A program to counter-balance the destructive effects of the economy imposed by multinational corporations and to respect nature again.

The Early Man worshipped the Sun, the Moon the Wind, the Rains, the Stars, the Trees and all that he saw were useful had to be respected, to be protected and to be conserved. The early interpretations that it was all because of his ignorance and fear are belied because of the still prevalent practices of worshipping nature going into the third millennium. The early Man thought he was a part of Nature and being a part of it should not damage it.
The Modern Man has damaged and is continuing to damage all tat the Early man worshipped, pushing nature and the Planet towards disaster. The biggest need today is to save this planet from such disaster. It is fortunate that there is a growing global awareness of this need.
“Amrita Bhoomi” project is one such effort to reassess the adverse effects of modern science and technologies on Nature and to research the advantages of the time=tested traditional technologies which stood the test of time for hundreds of centuries.
The most important for all for man being food and health, “Amrita Bhoomi” initial objective is to revive traditional agricultural technologies in these areas, as they have become crucial and critical issues today, because of the introduction of monocultures in food and agriculture mainly through the much heralded “Green Revolution” technology. The implementation and practice of it even for over fifty years, has left over 100 million people of the world hungry to-day. This is mainly because monocultures in agriculture are, according to even “common sense”, cannot succeed in a planet with the rich diversity in agro-climatic conditions: But, modern science is still trying to persist that through the second “green revolution” technology, namely biotechnology, it can feed this growing hungry population on this planet.
But, biotechnology is again a technology producing monocultures, developed by transnational corporations, only to establish their monopoly over the seed and thereby the food-systems of the world, only for profit, would again push more people to hunger. The latest in this effort of MNCs are the “Terminator Technology” and the “Verminator Technology” which produce “sterile seeds” which do not terminate at all when sowed for the second time.
Besids creating dependency on seeds, increasing monocultures and also damaging traditional biodiversity through pollution through pollination rendering other traditional varieties also to develop sterile characters, definitely, biotechnology would increase problems for mankind.
“Amrita Bhoomi”, in this context, has a dedicated program to develop alternatives to counter these disastrous moves of the MNCs, by reviving traditional technologies in agriculture, medicine and health, livestock varieties and veterinary medicine in the initial stages.
Traditional technologies in the management of the seed, rain-water, manure, pests, energy and livestock, revival of these resources, conservation and popularisation are the main programmes.
Besides actual implementation, “Amrita Bhoomi” who has a program to develop an army of volunteers in the “Green School” it wants to start and train them to wholly dedicate in its programme.
The programme of “Amrita Bhoomi: is nothing but a programme to revert back to worshipping nature, the Sun, the Moon, the Stars, Water and Air and to live with them, respecting them and Worshipping them.

“Amrita Bhoomi” will counter the disastrous moves of the MNCs...
